Tragic Developments in the Case of Missing Florida Boy

New, distressing details have come to light regarding a missing boy from Florida, whose father has been charged with making explosives. Tragically, the father was discovered dead alongside his dog.

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith stated that an autopsy was conducted on Monday morning, three days after the heartbreaking discovery. It revealed that 4-year-old Jonathan Boley exhibited no signs of “trauma or assault injuries.”

The cause of death remains confidential as authorities await the results of additional testing.

Known affectionately as “John John” by his family, Boley was found partially submerged in water by volunteers searching a wooded area in Jasper, Alabama, two miles from where he had last been seen.

The little boy was visiting his father over the holidays and was last spotted playing in the yard with his older brother and their mixed dog, Buck, shortly before noon on New Year’s Eve.

According to Boley’s brother, he and Buck wandered across the property line. An hour later, Jameson Kyle Boley reported his son missing.

Having been living with his mother in Florida after his parents’ separation, Boley was discovered just before 1 p.m. on the following Friday.

Remarkably, Buck the dog was found alive beside Boley’s body.

After the missing person report was filed, explosives were discovered on the property belonging to Jameson Boley.

Authorities reported that volunteers, who had been searching for days, were “shaken” by this finding.

“You know, you come to do a good deed, and once you arrive, perhaps you think you’re prepared for anything,” Sheriff Smith remarked. “They were obviously upset.”

In addition to the explosives, methamphetamine was also found in the home. There was evidence indicating that bomb-like materials had been present and detonated on the premises.

Jameson Boley, 40, was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful manufacture of a destructive device and chemical endangerment of a child.

Smith stated that he was “transferred to the Blount County Jail to keep him separated from acquaintances in the county and prison.”

Following the recovery of “John John’s” body, arrangements were made for the family to visit Blount County and inform his father of the tragic news.

“I coordinated with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office to facilitate the family’s notification,” Smith added.
