Rep. Jim Baird Released from Hospital After Accident
Indiana Republican Representative Jim Baird is out of the hospital, as announced in a post on his X account this Tuesday.
Officials reported that the lawmaker’s vehicle was involved in an accident. In a post shared early on Tuesday, it was noted, “I am pleased to announce that Congressman Jim Baird has been released from the hospital less than 24 hours after being hospitalized, and that his wife, Danice, continues to receive excellent care as he recovers. Congressman Jim Baird and his family would like to thank you for the outpouring of love and support, and appreciate everyone’s prayers and well wishes.” This update was shared again later that night.
Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett expressed his relief upon hearing the news about his colleague. “Jim and I came to Congress together,” he remarked. “He lost his arm in combat. He’s one of my favorite people here. God answered my prayers for Jim, and please continue to pray for his sweet wife.”
Meanwhile, President Trump addressed House Republicans at the Trump Kennedy Center on the same day, encouraging them to pray for Baird and his wife after their “pretty bad accident.” He expressed hope that both would recover soon.
Baird has been serving in the U.S. House of Representatives since early 2019.
