Democrats are increasing animosity towards ICE and endangering everyone.

The unfortunate passing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis was avoidable.

The responsibility lies heavily with Democratic officials and their media supporters, who have stirred up violent protests over the last year.

Good was fatally shot by federal agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while attempting to obstruct a legitimate operation.

This incident is a direct result of the months of escalating rhetoric aimed at vilifying ICE agents, particularly by figures like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

In January, Frey specifically barred the Minneapolis police from assisting ICE in any capacity.

He restricted ICE’s access to city property and accused the agency of employing “fear-based tactics” that undermine community trust.

“Get the criminals out.”

When federal agents arrived in Minneapolis last month to investigate alleged fraud by local Somali immigrants, Frey publicly condemned the Trump administration’s actions.

“We must stand up” for the Somali residents, he asserted. “Right now they’re under attack…I will do my best for them.”

Following the shooting, Frey only seemed to escalate tensions in an already strained city.

“Get the criminals out of Minneapolis,” he demanded of ICE agents hours after Good’s death.

“We don’t want you here.”

Federal employees face serious risks daily as they enforce laws passed by Congress.

They train for high-stakes situations, sometimes confronting threats like oncoming vehicles.

Many videos from the incident show agents defending themselves against a large vehicle approaching them.

Good had come to view ICE agents as enemies, mistakenly believing that defying their authority made her a courageous “resistance” fighter instead of a dangerous criminal.

What led her to this distorted view?

Her left-leaning peers.

In July, ICE reported a staggering 700% rise in attacks against agents, with armed groups targeting them and invading facilities.

That same month, I highlighted numerous instances where elected Democrats encouraged their supporters against President Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration laws.

Media outlets also depicted ICE as a “uniquely dangerous agency” disconnected from the American public.

“This level of anger can easily spiral out of control,” I cautioned then.

And that’s exactly what has happened.

The notion that these officers should have simply overlooked Good’s actions is absurd and reflects a certain privilege.

Reports indicate that the Department of Homeland Security recently arrested over 300 criminal immigrants in Minneapolis, bolstering the city’s safety.

ICE agents are fulfilling their duties. A law that’s not enforced is barely a law.

Yet, Democrats seem to want to navigate a fine line with immigration policies.

They don’t appear to be keen on enforcing immigration laws or border controls, yet they seem aware that advocating for such measures could be politically detrimental.

Instead, they aggressively criticize existing laws.

This can’t be their approach moving forward.

They need to be straightforward with their supporters and acknowledge that the country has the right to decide who can enter.

If they can’t maintain that stance, they should clearly advocate for completely open borders.

But it looks like there are few leaders willing to risk telling their agitated base to take a step back.

Until we find a way to diffuse the situation, we’re all at risk of violence fueled by Democratic rhetoric.
