Jasmine Crockett faced backlash online for her emotional response to the death of anti-ICE activist Renee Nicole Goode, with many calling her display “crocodile tears.” The Texas congressman and Senate hopeful stirred up controversy after a video emerged showing her engaging in plumbing work while lamenting the shooting death of an ICE officer on January 7.
One prominent critic, commentator Ninisee, expressed disdain during a heated exchange, saying, “Girl, shut up! Don’t give a fuck about that middle-aged white woman. Please.” She went on to question the sincerity of the emotions displayed, referencing how people reacted when conservative figure Charlie Kirk passed away.
The segment humorously dubbed her “Jasmine ‘Crocodile Tears’ Crockett,” capturing a moment where she looked visibly emotional. In a House hearing, Crockett condemned Republicans for allegedly supporting a federal agent involved in the fatal encounter with Goode in Minneapolis.
“Despite a woman being shot in the head, you act like nothing happened,” the lawmaker stated, asserting that people were failing to acknowledge the gravity of the situation.
Some skeptics wondered aloud whether Crockett’s tears were genuine or a calculated move to gain favor with voters against ICE.
Another critic remarked, “Rep. Jasmine Crockett fake-cries as she compares how Charlie Kirk was murdered for free speech to how a terrorist in Minneapolis was incapacitated when he tried to run over ICE with his car.” This came from conservative influencer Paul Cipla, who added that Crockett’s prospects for the Senate seemed grim following redistricting.
