Tragic Death of Influencer Ashley Jenae
The fiancé of New Jersey influencer Ashley Jenae has spoken out following her untimely death in Zanzibar, labeling it an “incomprehensible tragedy.” This comes a few weeks after he was asked about the couple’s last altercation.
Joe McCann, 45, issued a heartfelt statement late Tuesday regarding the passing of the 31-year-old content creator, which occurred on April 9. This was just hours after the couple had a violent dispute, leading to them being separated in different rooms of their luxurious villa while on vacation.
In his emotional message, he expressed the profound devastation he feels, stating, “There are no adequate words to describe the utter devastation, emptiness, and shock I feel after losing my best friend, my fiancée.” He added that they had been looking forward to starting a family together.
“Ashley’s death is an incomprehensible tragedy,” he reiterated.
Local authorities have ruled the death a suicide, and McCann hasn’t faced any allegations related to her passing. He spoke out shortly after learning he had not been invited to her funeral at Second Baptist Church in Paulsboro, New Jersey.
According to police reports, Ashley Robinson, her real name, was found dead a few hours following a heated argument between the couple. Hotel staff had intervened by isolating them in separate rooms during this altercation.
McCann described checking on Ashley with a security guard, only to discover her hanging from the door. Initially, he was held by authorities while they confiscated his travel documents, although they maintained that he was merely a witness. Eventually, they confirmed that the circumstances of her death appeared to be a suicide.
In his tribute, McCann painted a picture of Ashley as a “loving soul” with a nurturing presence. He said, “Ashley was an angel who was a light to all those who were fortunate enough to come before her. There is no way to fill the unfillable void left by Ashley’s death.”
He fondly recalled how she cared deeply for her loved ones and described the joy they shared, mentioning, “Every day we spent together was filled with both quiet moments and the many joys of love.”
McCann lamented that all Ashley ever wanted was to be a mother, asserting she would have excelled in that role.
Despite not being invited to the funeral, he expressed his heartbreak for Ashley’s parents, who are seeking further clarity regarding their daughter’s demise, insisting they do not believe she took her own life.
