A teenager from Queens barely survived an earlier altercation, but ultimately met a tragic fate on a Woodhaven sidewalk, according to officials.
Officials reported that Josue Argudo was involved in a dispute with two individuals as he attempted to escape around 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
Unfortunately, the attackers caught up with the 17-year-old, one striking him while the other stabbed him in the neck at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 76th Street, police stated.
Emergency responders transported him to Jamaica Hospital, where he was later declared dead. No arrests have been made as of now, according to the police.
Neighbor Patricia Amirati was in her kitchen when she overheard the argument outside.
“The back door was open,” she recounted. “When I looked outside, I saw a boy in light gray clothing, and then he just collapsed. It all happened so quickly.”
Neighbors attempted CPR on the victim, but it was futile, she noted.
Her surveillance footage captured the moments before the stabbing, showing the alleged victim walking with another teen.
The video, reviewed by the Post, depicts the suspect stabbing the victim in the neck. “I thought he was just hitting him, but the guy in black must have had a knife,” she described.
“The boy sat down and then fell over. It’s just terrible!” she added.
Police are continuing their investigation and are actively searching for the suspects, having released photos of both individuals.
Patricia mentioned that the boys casually walked away after the incident. “They just strolled off as if nothing happened,” she reflected. “It’s like they didn’t care at all.”
She expressed regret for not intervening during the incident. “If I had been outside for just 10 more minutes, maybe I could have stopped it,” she mused. “People often say, ‘This doesn’t happen in my neighborhood!’ I really wish I could have saved that boy’s life.”
