LeBron James’ Jersey Gets a Unique Patch
For the remainder of this season, LeBron James’ jersey will stand out a bit compared to his Lakers teammates.
Topps, a well-known trading card company, announced on Monday that the Los Angeles superstar will wear a special edition patch on his uniform for the rest of the 2026 schedule.
This blue, red, and yellow emblem honors the 23 seasons James has spent in the league during his remarkable career. It incorporates elements from the colors of his former teams—the Cavaliers, Heat, and Lakers—and features the phrase “NBA Season,” his jersey number 23, along with a silhouette of him tossing chalk into the air.
Fans will get their first glimpse of this patch when the Lakers face off against the Kings in Sacramento late Monday night. Interestingly, Sacramento is where James began his Hall of Fame journey back in 2003.
Topps indicated that the patches will be removed after each game, with some being available on ultra-rare trading cards.
James, the first player ever to participate in 23 NBA seasons, expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying it was “so awesome.” He seemed eager for this piece to be part of his collection, stating, “I need some for my collection!!!”
After being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 draft, he spent 11 seasons with Cleveland, four with Miami, and eight with Los Angeles. The Lakers are set to take on the Kings at Golden 1 Center at 7 p.m. PT.
