The New England Patriots are back in the game.
Following their victory in the Wild Card Round against the Chargers, Drake Maye and his team are aiming for their second postseason win since February 2019. They’ll be up against C.J. Stroud’s Houston Texans this Sunday, January 18th, at Gillette Stadium in the Divisional Round.
This matchup is shaping up to be intense. Houston also had a solid win against the Steelers in the same round, so both teams are coming in strong.
If you’re interested in catching the action live, there are still some last-minute tickets available on platforms like Ticketmaster and StubHub.
At the moment, the cheapest same-day ticket for the game is priced at $261, according to Vivid Seats.
For those looking at better seats, a spot in the 100-level starts at around $433, after including GameTime fees.
Houston is no stranger to the divisional round, marking their third consecutive year reaching this point. Yet, under DeMeco Ryans, they haven’t yet managed a win at this level.
Stroud’s performance will be crucial this weekend. Despite putting up decent numbers against Pittsburgh—21 completions on 32 attempts for 250 yards and one touchdown—he also had five fumbles, which is the highest for any quarterback in a game since 2013.
On the other hand, Maye was among the most sacked quarterbacks last season, a situation that could be problematic against the Texans. I mean, Houston’s defense is tough—they limit opponents to an average passing time of just 2.78 seconds, which is impressive.
As of now, oddsmakers suggest the Patriots are favored to win by three points.
I’m eager to see how this plays out.

About the Patriots vs. Texans game
This matchup will be the first meeting between New England and Houston since October 2024.
In that prior game, Houston emerged victorious with a score of 41-21, thanks to Stroud’s three touchdown passes.
However, a lot has changed in the 15 months since then.
Under coach Mike Vrabel, the Patriots have dramatically improved from a 4-13 record to a 13-4 finish, with Maye being recognized as an MVP candidate and rookie running back Tre’Veyon Henderson making a significant impact.
Even though they’ll be entering as favorites, the road ahead won’t be easy.
Don’t miss out on this game!
