Ethan Brown’s Cause of Death Revealed
The circumstances surrounding actor and model Ethan Brown’s death at 52 have come to light.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Coroner, Ethan, son of renowned singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, died on November 25, 2025, from “the effects of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and lidocaine.”
Reports indicate that the “Parenting Helen” star was discovered “unresponsive in her home.” Jackson Browne shared this news in a Facebook post the following day, November 26.
“It is with deep sadness that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Brown, son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and passed away,” the statement noted. “We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this time.”
Ethan’s parents, Jackson and Phyllis Major, welcomed him in 1973 and married two years later, in 1975. Unfortunately, their marriage ended when Major tragically took her own life in 1976 at just 30.
Reflecting on this loss in 2021, Jackson mentioned that his son became his “main focus,” balancing his roles as both a songwriter and a father. “If I have to be the father, I hope I know that and just do it,” he said.
Ethan developed a career as an actor and model, having made appearances from a young age. Notably, he was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine at six months old alongside his father. He starred in the 1995 film “Hackers” with Angelina Jolie and appeared in “Raising Helen” in 2004 with Kate Hudson. Additionally, he had a role in an episode of the WB series “Birds of Prey” in 2002.
Throughout his career, he also modeled for various designers, including Isaac Mizrahi, as noted in producer Mark Ronson’s memoir.
