Being a father to a daughter can certainly be a challenge.
At the premiere of his new Netflix movie, *The Rip*, in New York City, Matt Damon faced some playful teasing from one of his daughters. A clip shared on social media showcased him standing alongside his longtime friend and co-star, Ben Affleck.
In this footage, Damon approached his daughters—Isabella, 19, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15—only to be met with some lighthearted mockery over his red carpet pose.
“Why are you standing like that?” Gia joked, mimicking his stance by stretching her arms awkwardly. Damon, finding humor in the situation, played along and struck a similar pose himself.
He attended the premiere with his wife, Luciana, and their three daughters, as well as his stepdaughter Alexia, who is 25. Damon looked sharp in a navy suit with a black shirt and shoes, while the rest of the family dazzled in a variety of dresses.
In *The Rip*, which also stars Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, and Kyle Chandler, Damon and Affleck portray Miami police officers who come across a massive cash stash, leading to issues of trust among their colleagues.
Damon has often expressed pride in being the father of four daughters. He once remarked, “Being a father has made my job much easier in many ways.” He noted that the emotions he needs for his acting are now always accessible due to his fatherhood experience.
He shared how his daughter Isabella, at the time of an interview, felt embarrassed by his presence, saying, “It’s not cool when your dad is around.” Yet, he still found joy in spending time with his other two daughters and relished extra moments with his teenage daughter during the pandemic.
In an interview, he advised other fathers of girls to focus on “listening” to their daughters, emphasizing that it’s vital to help build their self-esteem, especially since they will eventually make decisions on their own.
*The Rip* is set to premiere on Netflix this Friday.
