Timothy Busfield Faces Sexual Abuse Allegations
Known for his portrayal of Elliot in a classic TV series and his role in the movie “Field of Dreams,” Timothy Busfield is facing serious accusations. He’s turned himself in to authorities regarding charges of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, following earlier accusations involving two other sex-related crimes.
According to reports, Busfield surrendered to police in New Mexico after a warrant was issued for his arrest. This warrant includes two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse.
His agency, Innovative Artists, has since dropped him as a client. The allegations claim that Busfield inappropriately touched a young boy while working on the television series “Cleaning Lady.” The complaint mentions that the child, who was seven at the time, reported several instances of being touched by Busfield over his clothes. Additionally, the boy’s twin brother corroborates the story but had remained quiet due to fear of repercussions.
When interviewed last fall, Busfield denied these allegations. He suggested that the children’s mother was motivated by revenge after he cast them on the show. He characterized the set as a lighthearted space where physical interactions, like picking up and tickling the kids, were commonplace. “I’m usually around people; it’s never felt weird,” he remarked during the questioning.
Recent reports indicate that Busfield is being accused of sexually abusing a third victim—the 16-year-old girl in California. This complaint, filed on January 14, comes from the girl’s father, who reported the incident to authorities just a day earlier. The new allegations involve unwanted kisses and inappropriate touching, with assertions that Busfield urged the girl’s family not to report the incident, promising he would seek medical help.
Moreover, Busfield has expressed his intent to fight these charges vigorously. In a social media video, he stated, “I will be exonerated because this is all wrong and it’s all a lie.”
