The Titans are likely feeling some urgency now that John Harbaugh has decided to join the Giants, leaving them to reconsider their next steps. With Harbaugh’s dream of coaching in Tennessee no longer an option, the team is in a tricky spot.
Interestingly, the odds indicate the Titans may not turn to a coach with a similar reputation. According to the predictive trading platform Kalsi, Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy currently has a 53% chance of taking over the Titans’ coaching role.
Harbaugh’s meeting with the Giants left him with just a 17% chance—now effectively zero—of landing the Titans’ job. Meanwhile, the team’s interest has surprisingly shifted toward former Giants coach Brian Daboll. On Tuesday, he had only a 2% chance, but that figure jumped to 24% as the Titans hustle to formulate a contingency plan.
Daboll is set to interview for the position on Friday, and he isn’t the only one in the mix. The Titans are also looking at several candidates, including Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, former Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, and Jets defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, all scheduled to meet this weekend.

The Titans might ultimately consider a stable figure like Harbaugh, known for his solid track record. Mike McCarthy, another potential candidate who won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers and made an impact on the Cowboys from 2020 to 2024, also presents an interesting option.
As of now, McCarthy stands at a 14% chance of being hired, with his interview scheduled for Saturday. On the other hand, Kevin Stefanski, a two-time NFL Coach of the Year, has a 9% chance to take the helm.
