Changing Looks of Murder Suspect
A former teacher accused of fatally stabbing a couple while they were hiking in Arkansas is undergoing a striking transformation in his appearance. Andrew James McGann, age 28, has switched up his look multiple times, moving from a wild hairstyle to a more polished ’90s-inspired style.
In just the last six months, he has altered his appearance at least four times. Most recently, he appeared in court with a messy beard and tousled hair combination. This continual change is almost reminiscent of a fashion model’s frequent makeovers.
After his arrest in July, a mugshot displayed McGann with curly hair that some might say evoked a broccoli shape—paired with a rather stern expression. Reports indicate that he has admitted to killing David Brink, 43, and his wife, Kristen Amanda Brink, 41, in front of their two young daughters.
Later in July, another mugshot revealed a new hairstyle: a straight, side-parted look that echoed both Zoolander and ’90s nostalgia. By November, he had opted for a cleaner style with a short haircut and was even seen wearing a tie, as captured in a video of him entering the courtroom.
During a brief court appearance last Thursday in Fayetteville, McGann’s case was set to resume on April 1. Reports mention that during the latest hearing, prosecutors indicated new evidence has been presented to the defense, which plans to continue its investigation.
McGann, who has pleaded not guilty to two counts of capital murder, allegedly committed the crime at Devil’s Den State Park on July 26. Following the attack, the Brink’s daughters, ages 7 and 9, were found unharmed and have since been placed in the care of relatives.
