Ryan Lochte Moves In with New Girlfriend
Ryan Lochte has recently moved in with his new girlfriend and her three children, just nine months after his estranged wife filed for divorce.
The former Olympic swimmer described the decision as the “right next step” following his split from Kayla Reid, whom he was married to for seven years. They share three kids: Kaiden, eight, Liv, six, and Georgia, two.
“I fell in love with someone who shares the same values and has three children of her own,” he mentioned during a conversation on Thursday.
“Together, we now form a family with six kids. She is my best friend, and our children have developed a strong bond. It became obvious that living under one roof was the best choice for everyone involved,” he explained.
Lochte emphasized the need for a larger home to support their blended family, focusing on providing a stable and nurturing environment for the kids.
“My actions over the last ten months have all been for my children, aiming to be the best father I can. This involved attending rehab, renewing my commitment to my faith, and making significant life changes,” Lochte continued.
He expressed his gratitude for the growth he has experienced, allowing him to spend 50% of his time with his children.
The 12-time Olympic medalist shared pictures with his girlfriend, Molly Gillihan, at their new home, captioning one with “Home Sweet Home 🏠 #moveinday.” They began dating in July after Lochte posted a cozy photo of them together.
Lochte’s new relationship came shortly after Reid announced their split, reflecting on the difficulties she faced and her process of healing post-separation.
Reid had previously mentioned feelings of “betrayal” and accused Lochte of substance use around their children, although he denied these allegations, admitting instead to struggling with substance abuse.
Reid filed for divorce on March 26 and highlighted concerns over shared parental responsibilities, noting Lochte’s alleged substance abuse history in court documents.
In response to the allegations, Lochte entered a rehabilitation facility and, in recent months, shared positive updates about his sobriety on social media, expressing happiness about his progress.
Despite facing serious challenges, both Ryan and Kayla navigate their new realities, focusing on the well-being of their family and children.
