John Mellencamp Urges Daughter Teddi to Return Home Amid Health Struggles

John Mellencamp is reaching out to his daughter, Teddi, urging her to come back home due to her ongoing health challenges. The renowned musician recently appeared on a morning show where he shared concerns about her well-being.

“I told her, ‘Just come back to Indiana with the kids and live here,’ but I haven’t heard back,” he stated, expressing his worries clearly.

Teddi, who previously starred in “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” disclosed her diagnosis of stage 2 melanoma in March 2022. However, by April 2025, she revealed that the disease had escalated to stage IV, affecting her brain and lungs. During her treatment, surgeons discovered multiple tumors while removing one from her brain.

Despite the grim prognosis, Teddi has kept her followers updated about her journey through social media and her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod. Recently, she mentioned that her treatment, which includes immunotherapy, is showing promise. “I just finished all the scans, and the tumor has shrunk significantly,” she noted on Instagram, hopeful about her recovery.

“I told her to come back to Indiana, but she wouldn’t respond,” said John Mellencamp.

Even with some encouraging updates, John shared that Teddi still faces tough days. He remarked that her condition can fluctuate greatly, and while she sometimes feels fine, her immunotherapy can leave her feeling unwell for several days.

Expanding on her situation, John explained that due to the severity and length of her illness, one can’t necessarily say she is cancer-free. “She has a lesion in her brain now. It started off as a small spot,” he continued, highlighting the disease’s progression over the years.

In a recent podcast episode, Teddi discussed her father’s insistence on finalizing her burial plans. “He called me multiple times, saying he just wanted to ensure everything was taken care of,” she recounted. John, with his usual forwardness, expressed a desire to have their family mausoleum arranged properly.

Teddi added a light touch to the conversation, stating she jokingly agreed to have “Hot Girl Never Dies” engraved somewhere, inspired by a recent encounter. It’s poignant, really, how humor can sneak into even the darkest conversations.
