Melania Trump Encourages Youth to Harness AI with Caution

First Lady Melania Trump recently spoke about the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in a call aimed at encouraging young Americans. While she highlighted its benefits for creativity, education, and career growth, she urged caution against over-relying on it at the expense of independent thought.

During the Friday event via Zoom, titled “Zoom Ahead: AI for Tomorrow’s Leaders,” Trump described the current time as an “age of imagination” fueled by AI.

“History shows us that curiosity leads to great achievements,” she remarked. “The best minds – our writers, architects, scientists, and artists – were deeply curious about human nature and constantly sought answers to unanswered questions.”

“AI is reshaping our world, and your curiosity should guide you,” she added.

Trump commended AI for enabling students to bring creative ideas to life across various fields like fashion and music. She stressed that students should embrace their imagination, emphasizing the importance of asking the right questions to think critically.

“I encourage you to be stubbornly curious,” Trump declared. “Think outside the box and question everything.”

The First Lady conveyed that while AI can present new opportunities, it should enhance, not replace, human thinking. She encouraged using it to unlock creativity, instead of allowing it to confine one’s imagination.

“It’s crucial to remember that while AI can produce images and information, only humans can create meaning and purpose,” she advised.

Wrapping up her remarks, Trump cautioned that despite AI’s ability to generate content, it cannot truly replicate human insights.

“Lead with your ideas, stay sharp, but remember: never let AI dictate your thinking,” she advised.

She continued by encouraging young people to let their creativity drive their intellectual pursuits instead of opting for easy answers through AI. “Be honest with yourself intellectually. Use AI as a tool, but don’t let it replace your own intelligence.”

“Knowledge is power,” she concluded. “It’s something that cannot be taken from you.”

Since the onset of President Trump’s second term, the First Lady has advocated for the integration of AI in education. In September, she convened a meeting in Washington, D.C., including Education Secretary Linda McMahon and Michael Kratsios, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, to discuss responsible practices for utilizing this rapidly evolving technology.
