Vice President J.D. Vance to Speak at March for Life 2026
Vice President J.D. Vance is set to attend and address the 2026 March for Life rally in Washington, D.C., on January 23, as announced recently. This marks Vance’s second appearance at this significant pro-life event, recognized as the largest annual human rights demonstration globally.
The March for Life first took place in 1974, following the Supreme Court’s decision in 1973 with the landmark case of Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to abortion. However, in June 2022, the Supreme Court overturned that decision, allowing individual states to regulate abortion laws.
“We are thrilled to welcome Vice President Vance back to this year’s March for Life,” stated March for Life President Jenny Bradley Richter. She added that his participation emphasizes the significance of the event and the role of the pro-life movement within a healthy conservative coalition.
A spokesperson for Vance shared that the vice president is thankful for the thousands of Americans who gather at the National Mall annually to advocate for life and is eager to join them once more.
Vance’s spokesperson also remarked, “President Trump has achieved more victories for the pro-life movement than any other president, and the vice president will continue to advocate for the right to life in conjunction with the president and his administration.”
Other speakers at the event will include Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and House Pro-Life Caucus Chairman Chris Smith.
This year’s March for Life theme is “Life is a Gift.” The organization describes the theme as a call for everyone to rediscover the beauty and joy of life. They emphasize that the event brings together numerous marchers from across the nation and the world, united in their belief in the extraordinary value of life.
