Protests in Minneapolis Result in Violent Confrontation
On Saturday, a video emerged showing left-wing protesters allegedly attacking Florida Senate candidate Jake Lang, who had previously been pardoned for his involvement in the January 6 riots. This incident occurred during his “March Against Fraud,” which faced significant hostility in Minneapolis.
Images captured Lang, age 29, with snow in his hair and bleeding from an injury on the back of his head. One user on X claimed that he was “punched” following a clash on the steps of City Hall.
As Lang attempted to escape in a red sedan, a video shared on X depicted counter-protesters yanking open the car door and kicking him, trying to force him back into the fray.
Lang later reported on X that he was stabbed by what he described as a “crazy white communist leftist mob,” adding that his tactical vest had “stopped it.”
This unrest is part of a larger pattern of escalating tensions in Minnesota, particularly following the police shooting of Renee Nicole Good during an encounter with ICE agents on January 7. Demonstrators have faced calls to reduce their aggressive behavior.
Arriving with a group, Lang’s demonstration coincided with another event organized by the George Soros-funded People’s Action Coalition Against Trump, occurring just across the street. He had indicated plans to burn a Koran on the steps of City Hall but ultimately refrained, instead dealing with aggressors, one of whom threw a Nazi salute in his direction.
“Please stop,” the man was heard saying to the aggressor in footage from the event.
Surrounded by both press and counter-protesters, Lang donned a bulletproof vest and utilized a microphone connected to a sound system while livestreaming his protest, which lasted 49 minutes.
As he played Vanilla Ice’s hit “Ice Ice Baby,” it clashed with the sound of police sirens and the shouts of counter-protesters. Lang shouted, “You are being replaced! Don’t you understand that you are being replaced?” and further declared, “We deserve a future for white Americans” and “Send the Somalis back.”
At one point, before the camera faded to black, Lang remarked, “We don’t need any weapons here, leave us alone.”
In response to the situation, the Minnesota National Guard was placed on alert, with footage showing Guardsmen arriving in Humvees as preparations were made for the demonstration.
