Giants’ New Coach Excites Players

Cam Skatebo is thrilled about John Harbaugh taking on the role of head coach for the Giants.

This past Saturday, Skatebo showed his support for Harbaugh’s hiring by sharing the team’s welcome announcement on his Instagram Story.

“New F—ING era,” the running back remarked in his post.

Prior to a significant ankle injury that ended his season, Skatebo demonstrated potential as a rookie, accumulating 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns in just eight games.

Now 23 and entering his second season, he will be playing under Coach Harbaugh.

After several days of negotiations, the Giants reached an agreement with Harbaugh on Saturday afternoon, reportedly worth around $100 million over five years.

In his first comments since signing, Harbaugh expressed his enthusiasm for coaching the Giants, stating to ESPN that he “can’t wait” to begin.

“This is the New York Giants,” Harbaugh told ESPN. “I am proud and honored to be the head coach of this historic franchise and especially excited to work with the Mara and Tisch families.”

“But most of all, I can’t wait to get started with the great players on this football team and see what we can accomplish together,” he added.

During a conversation with The Athletic’s Ian O’Connor, Harbaugh discussed his ambitions for the upcoming season. He emphasized that there wouldn’t be a complete rebuild, even though the Giants wrapped up the last season with a disappointing 4-13 record.

“I think the Giants have a strong roster, and it’s our job to make them even stronger,” he said. “We’re going to be competing for the playoffs and the championship. We’re hopeful and aiming for the playoffs next year.”

Furthermore, Harbaugh praised quarterback Jackson Dart, mentioning they spoke “at length a couple of times.”

“I couldn’t be more impressed with him,” Harbaugh noted. “I watched him on tape, and he had a great rookie season and has the right mindset. That’s a tough guy.”
