Billionaire investor Howard Rubin is facing serious allegations after reportedly assaulting a woman in his Manhattan “sex dungeon,” to the extent that her breast implants were damaged. He allegedly suggested she consider sturdier silicone replacements following the incident.
According to a recent report, Rubin supposedly paid women $2,000 for his abusive acts and offered up to $5,000 for masochistic experiences in a soundproof torture chamber. This information surfaced from a civil lawsuit detailed in the report.
One troubling incident involved Rubin punching a woman hard enough in the chest to flip her saline breast implants, even after she attempted to use a safeword to stop the encounter.
The report claims he covered the cost of repairing the implants, but she later insisted on replacing them with a more durable material, like silicone.
Rubin is also said to have texted a co-worker about wanting to “hurt” the woman before an encounter, explicitly stating that he was indifferent to her potential screams.
Despite having a safeword, “pineapple,” the abuse allegedly escalated when it was used, according to court documents.
One woman involved in the case claimed that after Rubin shouted “pineapple,” he tightened a rope around her wrist and hit her harder, eventually proceeding to rape her.
In other instances, he reportedly bound the women’s mouths so tightly they couldn’t speak.
It has been noted that Rubin often had the women sign agreements imposing a hefty $500,000 fine should they report the incidents, an arrangement made while he was frequently under the influence.
At 70 years old, Rubin is currently held in a Brooklyn jail as he awaits trial, facing charges reminiscent of those against Jeffrey Epstein. He has already been ordered to pay $3.8 million to the alleged victims in a civil judgment.
Rubin has pleaded not guilty, asserting through his lawyer that the encounters from 2009 to 2019 were consensual, citing some text messages where the women expressed anticipation for the meetings.
However, prosecutors are presenting a contrasting narrative, highlighting similarities to the Epstein case, which involved a co-defendant meant to recruit victims. In Rubin’s case, this role is attributed to his personal assistant, Jennifer Powers, a former model and substitute teacher.
Powers, who has also pleaded not guilty, allegedly helped arrange meetings with women, including those posing for various magazines as well as those in dire financial situations.
Following the incident with the breast implants, Rubin reportedly texted Powers, acknowledging the difficulty of the situation and expressing the need to be extra caring.
Rubin is said to have renovated a “dungeon” in his luxurious Metropolitan Towers residence around 2012, outfitting it with various sadomasochistic equipment modeled after a torture chamber shown in the film “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
The room was described as featuring whips, chains, and a large device known as a “St. Andrew’s Cross,” to which Powers allegedly responded in a text message, “I can only imagine what you did to her on that cross.”
Originally from Boston, Rubin turned his card-counting talents—honed in Las Vegas—into a lucrative financial career. He attended Harvard Business School and worked with entities like Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers.
After resolving civil lawsuits in 2017 and 2018, including a significant settlement to six women, he has since been engulfed in allegations related to sexual fetishes. Currently, he awaits trial on criminal charges.
