Drunk Driver Allegedly Chases Child on Dirt Bike in Washington

In a startling event in a wooded region of Washington state, a driver, reportedly under the influence, was caught on video pursuing a child riding a dirt bike.

Wendy Clemente, 56, is facing charges for allegedly trying to run down the child in her vehicle while intoxicated.

Disturbing footage recorded by a neighbor shows a silver Ford Focus veering toward the boy on the dirt bike, with Clemente apparently honking the horn repeatedly on a street in Cheney, a higher-end community in the Pacific Northwest.

In the video, a neighbor is heard exclaiming, “This woman is crazy,” as the car swerves toward the child before reversing and pointing directly at him.

Clemente shouted something at the child, who seemed to turn and respond before speeding away. At that moment, the vehicle accelerated along the sidewalk toward him, barely missing a fire hydrant and some brush.

“She’s trying to do this… oh my god… you’ve got to be kidding me,” the person filming can be heard saying in disbelief.

Initially, police were called to a report of a robbery about a mile away, with the caller stating he saw someone tampering with his door via live security footage.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located Clemente and her car. According to police reports from the incident on April 28, Clemente even attempted to kick a patrol officer during her arrest.

She told the deputies that she was “taking my dog” and “looking for other dogs to socialize with,” which sounds a bit odd in context.

Clemente now faces several charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, attempted first-degree assault, and trespassing. Despite the evidence, she claimed she had no knowledge of the incident involving the child.

Interestingly, she did admit to consuming alcohol prior to her arrest. After appearing in court on April 29, she was released on her own recognizance.
