Denver Broncos fans give playoff ticket to local 'handyman' recognized as a neighborhood 'hero'

A family in Fort Collins wanted to show appreciation to their community’s go-to “handyman” by inviting him to a Denver Broncos playoff game last Saturday.

Kevin and Kinsey Brown managed to snag a couple of highly sought-after tickets for the Broncos-Buffalo Bills matchup, but they couldn’t bear the thought of attending without inviting their neighborhood’s charitable handyman.

Paul Andrews has earned the title of a “hero” in the area due to his unwavering commitment to helping neighbors.

“He’s always doing things for everyone. He opens his garage for the neighborhood. He’ll go out of his way to help you,” Kevin mentioned.

“My husband was at work when, without being asked, he came over to help me shovel snow from our driveway,” Kinsey shared.

Andrews, an enthusiastic Broncos fan who even has the team’s logo inked on his bicep, was the perfect choice for their extra ticket.

Kinsey thought it would be more enjoyable for everyone, especially seeing Andrews’ excitement, rather than just keeping the ticket for themselves.

“We both just thought, ‘Paul is the guy,'” Kevin explained.

He hurried to Andrews’ home to extend the invitation, but, being the responsible person he is, Andrews hesitated until he could check with his boss.

Andrews said, “I might have to work that day, but I’ll let you know if I can make it.”

The two enjoyed breakfast together before heading to the stadium early, eager to support the Broncos.

The game went into overtime, and the Broncos emerged victorious, earning their place in the AFC Championship for the first time in a decade. Andrews described the experience as the best game he’d ever attended.

“I was screaming along with the crowd,” Andrews said, laughing.

“Yeah, I think we’re losing our voices here,” Kevin chimed in.

Kevin expressed his excitement about being part of “Bronco Nation,” especially with such amazing people around.

“I just feel like there are better days ahead,” he said.

“It was a blessing, just a blessing,” added Andrews.

The upcoming game will be against the New England Patriots on January 25th.
