Rep. Ansari Calls for Trump’s Removal Under 25th Amendment

Representative Yasamin Ansari from Arizona took to X on Monday, asserting that President Donald Trump is “mentally ill” and should be removed from his position “immediately” using the 25th Amendment.

She stated, “The President of the United States is extremely mentally ill and is putting our lives at risk. The 25th Amendment exists for a reason, and we must invoke it immediately.”

In response to these claims, Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comments on Tuesday morning.

Trump Remarks on Peace and Greenland

The congressman’s comments were prompted by a letter Trump sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. In his message, Trump voiced frustration over not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his supposed role in preventing multiple wars, stating, “I no longer feel obligated to think purely about peace.” He implied that his focus can now shift to what he sees as beneficial for the U.S.

Trump also questioned Denmark’s possession of Greenland, arguing, “If Denmark can’t protect the land from Russia and China, why do they have ‘ownership’ in the first place?” He further emphasized, “The world will not be safe unless we have full and complete control of Greenland. Thank you!”

The Norwegian Prime Minister later clarified his stance, remarking, “Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and Norway fully supports the Kingdom of Denmark on this issue.”

Calls for the 25th Amendment Grow

Other politicians, including Senator Ed Markey and Representatives Sidney Kamlager-Dove, have echoed the call for the 25th Amendment to be invoked, citing concerns about Trump’s fitness for office. Kamlager-Dove commented, “Donald Trump is unfit to lead and clearly out of control. Invoke the 25th Amendment.”
