Left-Leaning CNN Commentator Loses Composure After Scott Jennings Uses This Legal Phrase

Heated Debate Over Immigration Terminology

On Monday night, Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings found himself in a fiery exchange with anti-Second Amendment activist Cameron Kasky regarding the term “illegal.” This discussion took place amid heightened tensions surrounding immigration enforcement actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Things seemed to escalate significantly following an incident where an ICE agent shot and killed a man during a traffic stop. This event followed closely after another ICE shooting, which had already ignited controversy. Jennings had previously confronted attorney Stacey Schneider over the lack of cooperation from Minnesota officials with the Trump administration regarding illegal immigration. Here, Jennings referred to individuals in the country unlawfully as “illegal aliens.”

“I can’t say the word illegal alien anymore,” Kasky said, prompting Jennings to respond, “Who am I to tell you what I can and can’t do? You can say whatever you want. They’re illegal aliens, and the law calls them illegal aliens. That’s what I’m going to call them.”

The term “alien” is legally defined, and “illegal alien” appears in various sections of U.S. law. Kasky tried once more to challenge Jennings’ language after a segment on a CNN show where survivors of the Parkland shooting had the opportunity to express their thoughts.

“Look, it’s no longer illegal because ICE is directly targeting legal citizens of this country and me,” Kasky asserted. Jennings shot back, curious, “How are you going to force me to do the edict?”

The conversation continued with Kasky questioning Jennings’ reasoning behind his choice of words. “Your job is based on the premise that you’re going to be asked for more and more each week,” Kasky claimed. To this, Jennings replied, “Make your case.”

As Kasky insisted that Jennings didn’t fully grasp the situation, Jennings confidently responded, “Of course I do.” After some back and forth, Jennings acknowledged Kasky’s point regarding his use of the term “illegal.”

Jennings confirmed his stance, saying, “Yes, we want the law enforced.” Kasky then alleged that ICE was specifically targeting American citizens, to which Jennings responded, “That’s not true.” Kasky maintained his perspective, pushing the narrative that Jennings could deny this claim on national television.

Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, mentioned that a left-wing protester who interfered with a service in St. Paul could face charges related to the Free Clinic Admissions Act. Reports surfaced about anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis confronting random individuals to ask if they were ICE agents.

A Daily Caller News Foundation reporter documented a violent encounter where a left-wing group physically attacked a counter-demonstrator, showcasing the escalating tensions surrounding this contentious issue.
