Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Make Their Public Debut Together

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have officially stepped into the spotlight together, marking their first major public appearance as a couple. The 41-year-old singer joined the 54-year-old former Canadian Prime Minister during the Global Soft Power Summit in Davos, Switzerland, recently.

Perry showcased her fashion sense in a tan cardigan with balloon sleeves paired with a coordinating pencil skirt. She completed her look with geometric gold earrings and styled her hair in a sleek bun. Trudeau, on his part, presented a sharp image in a navy suit accented by a light blue dress shirt and a blue and white patterned tie.

The couple was spotted sharing smiles and holding hands throughout the event, with Perry in the front row as she attentively watched Trudeau deliver his speech.

In his address, Trudeau highlighted the significance of “soft power,” which refers to a nation’s ability to influence others through culture and diplomacy rather than military might. He remarked, “The 80 years of stability and prosperity the world has seen since the horrors of World War II ended… that era is over. We are now in a transition period where we are creating a new world for ourselves to live in.”

He pointed out that while some leaders are resorting to “hard power” strategies, prioritizing soft power is crucial in navigating current global challenges. To illustrate this concept, he recounted a recent date in Montreal, where the American woman he was with ordered a Jack and Coke. The server informed her that there was no American-made alcohol available anywhere in the city, which Trudeau used to demonstrate how Canadians support one another in tough times.

While he didn’t name the woman, reports suggest that he was referring to Perry. Sightings of the pair together began last July when they were seen dining in Montreal and enjoying drinks atop a bustling bar. Their first public appearance was in October 2025 at a cabaret club in Paris after celebrating Perry’s birthday.

Perry made their relationship Instagram official in December, sharing moments from their travels in Japan, including a joyful snapshot of them side by side.

Their romance has sparked interest, particularly as it follows Perry’s split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter named Daisy. Trudeau also recently separated from his wife of 18 years, Sophie Grégoire.
