FBI Arrests Surge in 2025

The FBI reported a significant increase in arrests, almost 200 percent, in 2025, according to exclusive statistics shared with Breitbart News.

FBI Director Kash Patel mentioned that the rise in arrests from Joe Biden’s last year in office to Donald Trump’s first year is largely attributed to Trump’s strict crime policies and the perceived shortcomings of Democratic leadership.

Patel stated, “These numbers truly demonstrate what law enforcement can do when leaders support them.” He emphasized that under Trump, the FBI developed significant partnerships nationwide, leading to nearly a doubling of federal arrests and a crackdown on various criminal organizations.

In 2025, the FBI made around 67,000 arrests, compared to about 22,500 in 2024. This shows an increase of 197 percent.

The agency also presented a chart illustrating the stark contrast between the Biden administration’s final year and the initial year of Trump’s return.

Notably, this surge in arrests coincided with a remarkable 20 percent decrease in the national murder rate. Furthermore, in Trump’s first year, the FBI apprehended five of the top 10 most-wanted fugitives; remarkably, four were caught in 2025, and the fifth in early 2026. Comparatively, Biden’s administration captured only four fugitives from the same list throughout his term.

In addition, the FBI reported that it dismantled over 1,800 gangs and criminal operations in the last year, marking a 210 percent increase from Biden’s final year. They also seized more than 2,000 kilograms of fentanyl, enough to potentially kill 130 million people, reflecting a 31 percent increase in drug seizures during that time.

Arrests related to violent extremism have surged by 490 percent, while espionage arrests rose by 35 percent. Moreover, the FBI highlighted that over 6,000 child victims were identified in the past year, which is a 22 percent increase since Biden’s inauguration.

This uptick in activity can be attributed to a successful resource surge, particularly through Operation Summer Heat, which led to over 9,000 arrests last summer, according to the FBI.
