Man says this is his biggest deal breaker with women: 'I find it unattractive'

An anonymous text message exchange has gained traction online after an Australian man suggested that a particular type of body hair on women could lead to a breakup.

A member of a well-known Australian Facebook group, where women discuss various topics, expressed her shock after sharing the texts she received from her date.

“It’s 2026 and men are still trying to dictate how we should look. I mean, is it any wonder that male loneliness is so rampant?” the post stated.

The conversation began typically, with the man sending her a morning greeting. However, he soon shifted to discussing what he termed “deal-breakers.” He claimed that seeing body hair on a woman’s forearms was “offensive and disgusting.”

“If that doesn’t work for you, I totally understand. There’s no pressure. I’d rather be honest from the start,” he added.

The woman responded, clearly unimpressed.

“Yeah, I’m not going to let anyone dictate how I look,” she texted back. “That’s really disappointing. Goodbye.”

In an unexpected twist, the man nonchalantly accepted her response while asking if she still wanted to go out.

“No way,” she firmly replied.

She further elaborated, suggesting he might have used some AI tools to formulate his thoughts, but it ultimately backfired.

“The audacity that I would still want to date you is truly something,” she wrote. “My arm hair and I are going to stay in and have more fun.”

The anonymous chat quickly ignited conversations within the group.

Some speculated that he was using AI, while others were astonished he even noticed her arm hair.

The post has garnered over 400 comments so far.

One user remarked, “Arm hair? Too bad.” Another wondered about the potential for men of previous generations to comment on such trivial matters.

A different person joked, “It’s like throwing a fit while yelling at your phone.”

“Real men don’t care about body hair,” claimed another commenter.

Amid the discussion, some users expressed their disgust at the man’s attitude.

“He probably used AI. Those aren’t his original words,” one theorized.

“If he’s gonna be upset about something so natural, he should at least write his own messages instead of borrowing from ChatGPT,” someone else argued.

Conversely, some defended the man, suggesting he was aiming to be considerate, even if his approach was a bit clumsy.

“What was I supposed to do? He seemed to be trying to be respectful,” one person inquired.

Yet others countered, claiming there’s no respectful way to address such an issue. “It’s disrespectful to even bring it up,” someone asserted.

“If he’s going to make a big deal about something so natural, he should at least write it himself instead of using AI. Coward,” another commenter stated.
