Ohio Woman Receives 30-Year Sentence for Bestiality and Child Abuse
An Ohio woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison due to her involvement in a disturbing case of bestiality and child abuse. Shauna Mayfield, along with her husband Justin Mayfield, faced multiple charges including rape, sexual conduct with an animal, and child endangerment.
In a recent update from local news, it was reported that Mayfield, 28, pleaded guilty to child rape and related offenses. If released, she’s required to register as a third-degree sex offender.
The charges stem from a June 2023 investigation initiated by the Warren Police Department, which acted on tips regarding child pornography from the Cuyahoga Task Force on Crimes Against Children. The investigation revealed that two young victims, aged 3 and 7, were involved in sex acts with an animal, with some acts recorded on video. Additionally, authorities uncovered an illegal marijuana grow operation at their residence, according to Deputy Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman.
Wildman noted that Shauna Mayfield has agreed to testify against her husband, who faces similar allegations. This cooperation is likely part of her plea agreement.
During her sentencing, it was emphasized that she would be classified as a third-degree sex offender, meaning she will need to register with local law enforcement every three months for life once she is released.
Meanwhile, her husband has already been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his own charges, which also involved rape and distributing obscene materials to minors. He, too, is required to register as a sex offender.
Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice highlighted the psychological damage inflicted on the victims, stating, “You used your relationship with them to facilitate this crime.” Wildman described the evidence as extensive and troubling, indicating it was one of the most severe cases he had encountered, with numerous related statements and messages allegedly demonstrating the couple’s actions.
