Noma’s LA Residency Sells Out in Seconds

In a striking blend of culinary excellence and cultural evolution, the renowned Danish restaurant Noma has once again claimed the title of the world’s best. Its upcoming residency in Los Angeles, priced at $1,500 per person, sold out every reservation in just 60 seconds.

Led by the innovative chef René Redzepi, Noma will take over a secret location in Silver Lake from March 11th to June 26th, but only those with confirmed bookings will have the chance to dine there.

“To everyone trying to book a table at Noma LA, I’m really sorry,” Redzepi shared on Instagram. “We are selling out faster than ever, like, seriously. Due to last-minute cancellations, you might want to join the waiting list. It’s gone in 60 seconds,” he added, emphasizing the frantic pace of reservations.

Some patrons have even resorted to opening multiple windows and using different browsers in hopes of snagging a seat.

For those eagerly seeking a taste of extravagant dining, Redzepi mentioned he’s providing an alternative. He hosted a “test kitchen” at Courage Bagels in the area, offering 250 bagels for $25 each between noon and 2 p.m. on a recent Monday.

I managed to catch a glimpse of the Noma experience, and it certainly piqued my appetite. One Reddit user characterized the Noma x Courage Bagels pop-up as “well-hyped,” and it seems many agree.

What’s On the Menu

According to posts on social media, the signature hot sea salt sesame bagel was loaded with oyster mushrooms, pumpkin flakes, and flavorful rose fudge, plus an edible flower called nasturtium and a citrus known as bergamot.

People really turned out for this event. One commenter noted, “I drove by without knowing what was happening, and there were at least 150 people in line.” Quite a sight, I imagine.

While the hefty $1,500 price tag for the next residency has raised eyebrows, it’s evident that there are plenty willing to pay for the experience. As one Redditor remarked, “This city really goes beyond parody sometimes.”
