After a year-long wait following the conclusion of Season 2, the beloved Apple TV series “Shrinking” is set to return with its third season tonight.
With the creative minds of Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein (known for “Ted Lasso”), and Jason Segel, “Shrinking” centers around Jimmy (played by Segel), a therapist grappling with profound grief after losing his wife. In an interesting twist, he starts becoming more involved in his patients’ lives, openly sharing his thoughts with them.
This upcoming season kicks off after the emotional finale of Season 2, where Jimmy has a poignant interaction with Louis (Goldstein), the man responsible for the accident that claimed his wife’s life.
If Season 1 delved into themes of grief and Season 2 focused on forgiveness, then the finale sets the stage for the central theme of Season 3: moving forward.
Fans can expect to see Michael J. Fox in this season, marking his return to acting after a five-year break. He will portray a Parkinson’s patient who connects with Paul (Harrison Ford), who is navigating his own challenges with the same degenerative illness.
Prior to its premiere on January 28, “Shrinking” is already accessible on Apple TV and has even been renewed for a fourth season.
