President Trump Receives Prayer at Iowa Restaurant

While in Iowa, President Donald Trump had a spontaneous moment at a restaurant when a diner asked if they could pray for him before his speech near Des Moines.

A video shared by White House aide Margo Martin on X captured the scene at the Machine Shed restaurant, where a man in the crowd directly approached President Trump.

“Can I pray quickly?” the man inquired.

“Of course! Let’s go,” Trump replied, dipping his head as the man proceeded with the prayer.

A collective prayer of gratitude was then offered by others in the restaurant, asking for wisdom, peace, and protection for the president. “Lord, we thank you for this president and his potential. Please grant him wisdom and discernment. We pray for hope and peace,” the man vocalized during the prayer.

This heartfelt moment elicited several “Amens” from the surrounding patrons.

It was a candid interlude as Trump visited the restaurant before launching his 2026 midterm election campaign in the Des Moines area. As the prayer concluded, applause and praises filled the space: “Amen, praise God.”

The White House had recently issued a national invitation for prayer and spiritual rededication ahead of America’s 250th anniversary. In a statement from the Trump administration, the president urged Americans to pray for the country, emphasizing that it has long been “sustained and strengthened by prayer.”

Trump further noted the importance of rededicating to one nation under God as the nation gears up for this significant milestone.

The White House has been contacted for more details related to the visit’s timing and organization.
