Uncertainty remains after man douses Rep. Ilhan Omar with liquid during impeachment speech — hazmat confirms substance

Incident at Ilhan Omar’s Event

During a City Hall event on Tuesday evening, Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota was sprayed with a liquid while calling for the impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security chief, Kristi Noem.

A man approached from the audience and doused her. Initially shocked, Omar quickly confronted the individual, expressing her outrage with a fierce remark, “Keep going, you son of a bitch won’t let this go on!”

The assailant was promptly subdued and taken into custody. He has been identified as 55-year-old Anthony James Kazmierczak.

After regaining her composure at the podium, Omar stated, “This concludes my remarks. It is important for me to continue. We’re going to keep going. These bastards won’t be able to get away with this!”

A spokesperson for the Minneapolis Police Department confirmed that Omar was unharmed.

Various video recordings captured the incident from multiple angles. The police reported that the attacker used a syringe to spray the liquid, which was later identified by hazardous materials experts as apple cider vinegar. Kazmierczak is currently being held without bail at Hennepin County Jail, facing a third-degree assault charge.

On social media, some users questioned whether the incident was staged to gain sympathy for Omar.

Former President Trump commented on the matter, expressing skepticism about Omar’s integrity, suggesting, “Maybe she got herself sprayed knowingly.” He branded her a fraud, indicating he doesn’t take her seriously.

Interestingly, a political action committee associated with the Democratic Party of Justice began campaigning for donations on Omar’s behalf shortly after the incident.

In defiance, Omar posted on social media, affirming her resilience: “I’m fine. I’m a survivor and this little instigator won’t threaten my job. I will not let the bullies win. Thank you to my amazing voters who rallied behind me. Minnesota is strong.”

The U.S. Capitol Police announced their intentions to pursue the most severe charges possible against Kazmierczak to deter future attacks.
