Workshop at UC Davis for Non-Cis Menstruators
The LGBTQIA Resource Center at the University of California, Davis, organized a “Menstrual Mutual Aid” workshop on Monday, specifically for those identifying as “non-cis menstruators.” This event coincided with Menstrual Health and Awareness Day, aiming to focus on the unique experiences of non-cis menstruators while fostering discussions around sustainable menstrual and pelvic care.
According to a promotional post on Instagram, the workshop invites participants to learn how to create reusable cloth napkins, discuss product maintenance, and engage in conversations that build community through food and dialogue. An interesting note was that the session was not just for non-cis menstruators; all UC Davis students were welcome.
It’s explained that “non-cis menstrual men” are individuals who experience menstrual cycles but do not see themselves as cisgender women—typically those born female who identify as such.
The workshop also offered incentives, including around $100 in prizes related to sexual and menstrual health. Participants would take home reusable pads, aiming to enhance their practical skills while promoting a mindful approach to menstruation.
Responses from the UC Davis LGBTQIA Center to inquiries about the event were not available as of the time of reporting.
