Molly Ringwald cautions that supporters of ICE will be viewed as 'collaborators'

Actress Molly Ringwald issued a stark warning on Tuesday to those who choose not to protest actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), referring to them as “heinous.” In a four-minute video shared with her 1.4 million Instagram followers, the 1980s star drew a parallel to the collaborators of the Nazis, suggesting that those who support ICE might face consequences similar to them.

She noted, “Many people cooperated. And there were others who didn’t cooperate and joined the resistance. In the end, they took their country back. The people who cooperated turned out to be criminals. And that’s what’s going to happen.” Ringwald emphasized a moral distinction between those who protest ICE’s actions and those who remain silent.

She expressed her frustration following the recent killing of Alex Preti, a 37-year-old who was shot by Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis. Ringwald stated, “I don’t think I can stay silent, and I don’t think you can either. Terrible things are happening in our country right now.” She even went as far as to describe the current government under Trump as a “fascist regime.”

“This is a fascist government,” she asserted, adding that ICE agents have lost their sense of humanity. “They’re monsters. They’re human too, but they’ve forgotten that they’re human and they’ve become monsters. Don’t forget your humanity,” she urged.

Ringwald lamented the plight of many “good people” suffering due to oppressive immigration enforcement. She concluded her video with a call for moral responsibility, urging viewers to recognize that some have lost their basic humanity under current policies. “Do the right thing, stand up and speak out,” she urged her audience.
