Ray J Reveals Serious Health Issues
R&B artist Ray J has shared alarming news about his health, stating that his heart is 75% defective due to prolonged substance abuse. Doctors have reportedly given him a year to live.
The “One Wish” singer opened up about his situation in an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for the support he’s received. “I almost died!! Thanks to everyone’s prayers and support I’m alive!!” he wrote.
In a video accompanying the post, he mentioned that his heart is functioning at just 25%. “I want to thank everyone who prayed for me. I was in the hospital,” he said. “As long as I stay focused and continue on the right path, everything will be fine.” The gratitude in his voice was palpable.
However, another livestream told a more somber tale. In a clip from the @Livebitez Instagram page, Ray J said, “2027 is definitely the end for me.” His friend, clearly startled, responded, “No, don’t say that, bro.” Ray J simply reiterated, “That’s what the doctors say.”
In another part of the livestream, he reflected on his life, saying, “It doesn’t matter if my days count. But guess what? My baby’s mama is going to be straight. My kids are going to be straight. If they want to spend money, they can spend it, but I did my part here.” It’s a bittersweet mixture of acceptance and worry for his family.
He continued, “I shouldn’t have tried so hard, brother. And when it’s all over, don’t burn me and bury me,” which struck a chord with many viewers.
In further footage, Ray J appeared distressed, admitting his struggles with alcohol and drugs. He said, “On the right side, it’s black out here. It’s like it’s over,” revealing his desperation. He even hinted at considering a trip to Haiti for “voodoo” as a possible remedy.
Ray J’s situation has also been complicated by legal issues. He was arrested last November for allegedly pointing a gun at his ex-wife, Princess Love, during a tense exchange on a Thanksgiving livestream. Following a protective order, he is currently barred from seeing her and their two children, Melody and Epic. In court documents, he claimed he pointed the gun to prevent her from kicking the kids out after a family vacation.
