Jeffries Calls Out Miller; White House Responds
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York has labeled Stephen Miller, the deputy chief of staff for policy and Homeland Security adviser at the White House, as a “hateful bigot.” In turn, the White House has dismissed Jeffries by referring to him as a “clown.”
In a recent commentary, Jeffries asserted that Miller is among those “malign architects” responsible for the violence inflicted on people by the Department of Homeland Security. He provocatively questioned, “Why is this hateful bigot still President Donald Trump’s chief immigration adviser?” He referenced an incident where Miller accused nurse Alex Preti of being a potential assassin.
Following Jeffries’ comments, White House press secretary Abigail Jackson fired back. She described Jeffries as a clown who has misrepresented federal law enforcement, accusing him of inciting violence against law officers by encouraging supporters to “fight” Trump’s policies “in the streets.”
A senior official from the Department of Homeland Security defended Miller, stating he has been crucial in executing the president’s agenda. The official claimed that “President Trump achieved the most secure border in American history with astonishing speed,” crediting Miller as a significant contributor to that achievement.
The official further stated that Miller’s “passion, patriotism, and tenacity” have propelled the administration towards what they say is the largest deportation effort of criminal illegal immigrants in U.S. history.
In a tragic event over the weekend, Alex Preti, a U.S. citizen, was shot and killed in Minneapolis. Amid the controversy, Miller asserted that the Democratic Party has sided with those he labeled as “terrorists” regarding the incident.
