Unexpected Moment in Heavyweight Fight
During a boxing match between heavyweights Jarrell Miller and Kingsley Ibe in New York on Saturday night, something quite unusual happened.
As they went toe-to-toe in the second round, Ibe landed a series of punches that really got the crowd buzzing. One particularly powerful hit sent Miller’s head back, causing his wig to fly off, revealing a mostly bald head underneath.
Miller, not missing a beat, tossed the wig into the audience. Soon, fans were posting pictures on social media, humorously donning hairpieces themselves.
Interestingly, Miller shared that he had to wear the wig after he accidentally used ammonia bleach instead of shampoo just two days before the fight—definitely an unexpected mishap.
“I’m a comedian,” he said after the match, suggesting that sometimes laughter is the best response. “You have to make fun of yourself.”
In the end, Miller won the fight by split decision, which marked an exciting comeback. He celebrated with a little dance, giving his head a playful pat. This victory brought his professional record to 22 wins, 1 loss, and 2 draws. This was his first match since a draw with Andy Ruiz Jr. back in August 2024.
His last fight before this was a TKO loss to Daniel Dubois in December 2023, which was held in Saudi Arabia.
The Miller-Ibe bout was part of the undercard for Teofimo Lopez’s fight against Shakur Stevenson, where Stevenson emerged victorious by unanimous decision, claiming the WBO and The Ring junior welterweight titles.
