Trevor Noah criticizes Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump at the 2026 Grammy Awards

Trevor Noah’s Grammy Remarks on Nicki Minaj and Trump

During the opening of the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles, Trevor Noah took a playful jab at the budding relationship between Nicki Minaj and former President Donald Trump.

As he welcomed stars like Justin and Hailey Bieber, Billie Eilish, Pharrell Williams, and Tyler, The Creator to the stage, he quipped, “Nicki Minaj isn’t here. She’s still in the White House with Donald Trump, talking about very important issues.” This drew cheers from the audience.

In his sixth hosting appearance, Noah even impersonated Trump, humorously asserting, “Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest talent. I know people say it’s you, but it’s me.”

Meanwhile, Minaj made waves earlier in the week when she and Trump were spotted holding hands at the Trump Accounts Summit at the U.S. Treasury Department. She referred to herself as Trump’s “biggest fan,” which definitely stirred some conversations.

Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s nominations with nine, closely followed by Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Cirkat, each snagging seven nominations.

Nominees for Best New Artist, such as Leon Thomas, Olivia Deen, Katzeai, and Addison Rae, are set to perform. Other big acts like Bruno Mars, Rosé, and Justin Bieber will also take the stage during the ceremony.

A memorial segment will feature performances from Reba McIntyre, Brandy Clark, and Lukas Nelson, with Ms. Lauryn Hill honoring D’Angelo and Roberta Flack. Additionally, Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, and Slash will perform in tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
