Radical Feminist Advocates Celebrating Abortions
A recent article highlights Becca Leah Tucker, a radical feminist and author of the pro-abortion book Abortion Companion: An Affirmative Handbook for Your Choice and Journey. Tucker has openly expressed pride in her decision to have an abortion. Blaze TV host Steve Deace warns that this perspective is increasingly becoming mainstream.
In a segment, Deace commented on a T-shirt Tucker wore that read, “Thank God I Had an Abortion.” He described this attitude as blasphemous, suggesting it shows blatant disrespect. “She seems eager to announce her decision,” he noted, adding that he’s noticed more individuals like Tucker than ever before.
Deace argued that pro-life advocates must strive harder to make their arguments heard. He questioned the evolving sentiment around the value of life. “Do you think that what’s developing inside me—after just being pregnant for seven weeks—isn’t life?” he asked rhetorically.
He continued by questioning whether a seven-week-old embryo should hold the same rights as an adult man, using his executive producer, Aaron McIntyre, as a reference. “If I were to harm Aaron, I would face severe consequences. Yet, if I went to Planned Parenthood to terminate a pregnancy, nothing would happen,” he pointed out.
According to Deace, this attitude isn’t just a casual opinion but a challenge to higher values, suggesting that it is a direct affront to God. He expressed skepticism about claims that Tucker is merely a victim. “If she’s a victim, does that mean all criminals qualify as victims?” he queried.
While he didn’t offer specific solutions, he urged conservatives to introspect on the societal shift that celebrates abortion. “Why isn’t Becca Leah Tucker considered a murderer in your definitions? What’s the theological foundation for that belief?” he asked, planting seeds of doubt into commonly held views.
