William Stevenson Charged with Murder
William Stevenson, 77, who was previously married to Jill Biden, has been arrested and faces charges related to the death of his second wife. The indictment, issued by a grand jury in Delaware, states that he is charged with first-degree murder following the death of 64-year-old Linda Stevenson, whose body was discovered at their home in New Castle County on December 28.
In a prior statement, Stevenson referred to Linda as “the greatest person in my life.”
Stevenson was married to Jill Biden from 1970 until she began an affair with Joe Biden in 1975, resulting in a civil divorce just two months later. Jill Biden married Joe Biden in 1977. Stevenson later married Linda, remaining married to her for nearly 40 years until her untimely death.
Law enforcement officials reported that they were called to the couple’s residence for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they found Linda unresponsive in the living room. Despite efforts to revive her, she was declared dead at the scene. The Delaware Division of Forensic Medicine is currently investigating the cause of death.
Stevenson is being held at the Howard Young Correctional Facility in Wilmington, unable to secure bail set at $500,000. Authorities indicated that his arrest followed an extensive investigation that lasted several weeks.
Surprisingly, Stevenson had been a supporter of former President Barack Obama but later expressed admiration for President Donald Trump, stating in 2023 that he “loved and respected” Trump and claimed the “Biden crime family” had wronged him.
As Joe Biden’s mental fitness has become a topic of discussion, Stevenson has been increasingly critical of Jill Biden’s efforts to support him, questioning her persistence in maintaining his candidacy despite visible struggles.
