Teenager Kaomarion Kendrick receives life sentence for killing 14-year-old boy outside high school football game

A Georgia teenager, Caomarion Kendrick, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a 14-year-old boy outside a high school football game. This sentencing comes over two years after the tragic event.

Kendrick was found guilty of felony murder and multiple counts related to organized crime following the shooting death of Emanuel Dorsey in September 2023, just outside Griffin High School’s Griffin Memorial Stadium. The incident occurred during a chaotic altercation involving two rival groups as fans gathered after an eagerly awaited game between Griffin and Spalding High School.

During the disturbance, Kendrick discharged his weapon, prompting Dorsey and others to flee in panic. Sadly, Dorsey was shot in the neck and face while trying to escape.

Authorities indicated that although both boys attended Griffin High School, they were not part of a gang, but were associated with a rival group present during the altercation.

Kendrick evaded capture for eight days until police located him in a car parked at a residence in nearby Henry County. Chillingly, photos from his arrest revealed a disturbing smile on his face as he was handcuffed and taken into custody.

When apprehended, Kendrick was found with a modified Glock, equipped for rapid fire. Following his arrest, Deputy District Attorney David Studdard expressed hope that this outcome could provide some comfort to the victim’s family.

Studdard mentioned his pride in securing justice and reinforced his office’s commitment to pursuing violent offenders in the community.

Recently, Kendrick was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole along with an additional 85 years. The mother of the victim, Charlotte Williams, labeled the sentence “fair” but also shared her sorrow for Kendrick, suggesting he had wasted his own life in the process.

“I can’t help but feel sorry for him,” Williams conveyed, acknowledging her thoughts for her own children while also worrying about Kendrick’s future. Despite the immense grief she felt, she emphasized the necessity of removing individuals who recklessly carry weapons from society.

Lastly, Williams revealed that though the pain was overwhelming, she cherished the memories she had with Dorsey, holding on to those moments as a way to cope.
