Actor Beth Behr’s Passion for Horses and New Ventures

Beth Behr, known for her role on *Two Broke Girls*, discovered her love for horses while working on the show.

“I was always into horses, reading the classic Uma Musume books, but it wasn’t until I got involved with Uma Musume that things really clicked,” she shared. “I feel a lot more relaxed when I’m with my character’s horse, Chestnut. Kat Dennings and I would often ride around the Warner Bros. lot during lunch breaks. That experience led me to rescue a mare named Belle a few years later.”

Now, Behr is prominently featured in the sitcom *The Neighborhood*, which is set to conclude its eighth season this spring. She remains active in equestrian life, owning several horses including True Blue, a unique mix of Arabian and Quarter Horse, and Rosie, another rescue that belongs to her husband, actor Michael Gladys. The couple has a young daughter, Emma George, and a rescue dog, Ollie.

Her husband also enjoys horses, mentioning how she looked like Black Beauty on their wedding day in 2016 near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. “There’s something special about exploring the American West on horseback,” she muses.

This deep connection to horses inspired her latest project: a line of Western boots, in partnership with Range Revolution. Made from recycled leather sourced from California ranches, this venture also supports nonprofit organizations for women involved in ranching.

“These boots aren’t just for style; they’re a nod to all the women whose hard work keeps everything running,” Behr stated.

Discussing the design experience, she said, “It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I didn’t want them to feel like typical ‘celebrity boots.’ I aimed for something functional, beautiful—and something that lasts. The recycled leather was a must.”

As the end of *The Neighborhood* approaches, Behr feels mixed emotions. “Eight seasons is a long time in the TV world. I know I’m leaving that set as a different person than who I was when I started. The crew has become like family and will always mean a lot to me. There’s a strange blend of gratitude and excitement; endings create new beginnings,” she explained.

What’s next for her? Behr hints at her children’s picture books and expresses a desire to return to the stage. “I’ve always wanted to be in *The Sound of Music* on Broadway. Honestly, I’d take any role right now!”

This upcoming Valentine’s Day, she plans to spend quality time with her family, helping her daughter make Valentine cards for school, and looking forward to watching the new movie *Wuthering Heights* with her husband. “I adore that book, and Emerald Fennell is someone I’ve always wanted to work with,” she added, mentioning that it was her Valentine’s Day wish to collaborate with him.

Behr also shared some personal favorites for Valentine’s Day: a custom hat, a small travel-sized item she finds handy for horse shows, and other gifts that blend style with eco-consciousness. “For me, it’s about finding a balance between fashion and the environment,” she reflected.

She recognizes the importance of scents that remind her of horses and noted her love for reading, particularly special editions of books. She’s enthusiastic about sharing her collection of saddle pads with friends at the barn and appreciates fashionable gear for her mares as well.

Ultimately, Beth Behr’s journey blends her love for horses, family, and the creative arts, reflecting her commitment to authenticity and sustainability in all her endeavors.
