America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration at the Super Bowl
San Francisco – The celebration of America’s 250th anniversary is unfolding throughout the year, with the world of sports playing a pivotal role.
In November, a partnership was formed between America 250 and the NFL, allowing the America 250 logo to appear on footballs and fields from Week 18 through the playoffs.
Now, the spotlight is on the Super Bowl.
“What better way to mark our nation’s significant milestone than being part of its biggest sporting event?” said America 250 Chairwoman Rosie Rios during an interview on Fox News’ Radio Row in San Francisco.
Before kickoff, fans will engage in an interactive experience. The America 250 logo will be prominently displayed in the stands, which will be transformed into a sea of red, white, and blue, thanks to panels distributed to every attendee. This will create a striking patriotic scene for television viewers.
Rios, a native of the Bay Area, finds personal significance in this celebration. As a mother of an athlete, she sees sports as a crucial element of American culture. The involvement of America 250 in this realm feels almost inevitable.
“My kids are talented athletes, and for all of us, whether it’s soccer or basketball, the world will be watching the U.S. at the World Cup and the Olympics two years down the road,” Rios noted. “We aren’t just part of the world; the world is part of us, and it’s essential to work collaboratively to make sure all 350 million Americans are included in this endeavor.”
“It’s particularly special for me that this is happening at Levi’s Stadium—my home. I was born and raised in East Bay and being back here for the Super Bowl feels like winning the lottery,” Rios added. “With the world’s gaze on us, America 250 will have a prominent presence, showcasing our flag and a unique interactive fan experience everyone will notice.”
Reflecting on her family’s journey, Rios mentioned, “My parents immigrated here in 1958. I’m living the American Dream, and so are my children. To think this is occurring right where I grew up is just incredible.”
President Donald Trump has long been an advocate for sports, attending numerous events throughout his presidency, including last year’s Super Bowl and other major sporting events.
“You can always expect President Trump to discuss his involvement with the World Cup, the Olympics, and America 250. He’s fully committed. We represent all branches of government, and it’s an honor for me to serve in this capacity,” Rios remarked about the president.
Looking ahead, America 250 is set to host a UFC event on June 14, coinciding with President Trump’s 80th birthday, in addition to an IndyCar race scheduled for August.
