Ruggable: A Rug That Stands Up to Life’s Messes
Washable and easily dryable—that’s what Ruggable touts, but I had my doubts. That is, until a pipe burst and flooded my apartment’s lower floor. Suddenly, water was everywhere, soaking furniture, ruining the flooring, and forcing me to tear out about two feet of drywall.
Everything seemed lost, except for one thing: my Ruggable washable rug. I purchased the Jonathan Adler collection rug about a year ago, and it has been through quite the ordeal. From dog hair and toddler messes to coffee spills, I can now add “survived a flood” to that impressive list.
While it’s not the cheapest option, many washable Ruggable styles are currently $200 off, which is a nice bonus considering the upcoming President’s Day sale later this month.
As I was packing up what remained, I saved the rug cover and its accompanying rug pad, which also made it through the flood unscathed. You can technically toss this rug in a washing machine on a cold setting; however, mine was too large, so I opted for professional cleaning. It now looks brand new. My sofa and dining table? Well, that’s a different story.
The craftsmanship of Ruggable truly impresses me. Unlike furniture, which depreciates quickly, these rugs are made to handle life’s chaos. You won’t need to buy a replacement every single time something goes wrong.
One of my favorites is the Tufted Integrated Rug. It has a polyester top and a comfortable 7mm pile, plus a non-slip lining and a waterproof barrier. My exact color options may not be available anymore, but the charcoal and teal Jonathan Adler Op Art design, with its striking geometric patterns, is currently for sale. It adds an exciting element to an otherwise plain space.
Cleaning is also hassle-free. Even a vacuum with low suction power won’t be an issue. You can wash it in cold water and tumble dry on low, although larger sizes might need a professional cleaning if they won’t fit in a regular dryer. Smaller sizes? Those can just hang out to air dry.
So, if you’re in the market for a new rug, now might be a great time to snag one of the washable Ruggable styles for $200 off.
