Graham Linehan’s Testimony on Free Speech and Transgender Issues

Irish comedy writer Graham Linehan, known for his controversial views on transgender matters, spoke in Parliament on Wednesday. He argued that the fight for free speech in Britain has left “ordinary people” grappling with culture wars, lacking clear guidance from leaders.

Earlier, on “Fox & Friends,” Linehan criticized Prime Minister Keir Starmer for steering clear of discussions about the ongoing transgender policy debates happening in courts, on the streets, and across the internet.

“It seems we have a chancellor, Keir Starmer, who claims he wants to end the culture wars,” Linehan stated. “But instead, he’s just hiding from them. This leaves ordinary people to face the culture war daily in Britain.”

Linehan pointed out several incidents where nurses faced harassment and were labeled as bigots, blaming what he described as “sneaky leadership” for the absence of clear direction.

He recounted a situation involving women who reported being asked to undress in front of men, emphasizing that no one admitted to being incorrect in handling such disputes. Linehan expressed frustration about being unable to secure work after advocating for what she considered fundamental feminist principles tied to the women’s suffrage movement.

Linehan had a brief run-in with the law for voicing criticisms about the UK’s transgender policy, though the charges were later dropped.

She pushed for women-only spaces, arguing that allowing “men who identify as women” into those spaces risks safety, akin to what’s been dubbed a “Predator Charter.” “It’s not that I’m suggesting all transgender individuals are predatory,” she noted, “but the same can be said for men in general. We have kept men out of women’s bathrooms for a reason, and that’s been established for many decades.”

Linehan’s outlook on this issue has made a significant impact on her life, which she describes as being “kind of destroyed by trans activists.” She reflected on the past decade, observing numerous colleagues accusing her in public forums of things she felt unable to clarify.
