Public Support for Voter ID Mirrors Nicki Minaj’s Stance
Nicki Minaj recently shared a passionate endorsement for voter ID, and CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, highlighted that a significant portion of Americans resonate with her views.
Minaj’s remarks were made following her attendance at the Trump Account Summit in Washington, D.C. As she expressed in her post, the concept of voter ID shouldn’t even be up for debate. She emphasized, “What kind of smart, forward-thinking, industrialized countries are even debating whether or not to have voter ID? It’s like they’re trying to prevent people from showing ID to vote for their leaders!” This post garnered over 55 million views on X.
According to Enten, a large majority across various demographics support voter ID. He noted, “85% of white Americans are in favor, along with 82% of Latinos and 76% of black Americans.” This counters claims often made by Democrats suggesting voter ID laws primarily hinder votes from people of color.
Enten concluded that voter ID isn’t a divisive issue in the U.S. He reiterated that it’s largely supported across the board, irrespective of race or political affiliation.
On a different note, the political landscape has seen Republicans advocating for the SAVE Act, which would stipulate that voters prove U.S. citizenship when registering for federal elections. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer characterized this proposal as “despicable,” promising that Democrats would fiercely oppose it.
Minaj has been vocal against liberal policies and recently accused many in the music industry of engaging in sinister practices, likening them to agents of the devil in a separate post.
