Nancy Guthrie is missing: Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos reports no suspects identified

The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is still ongoing, and during a news conference on Thursday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that there are currently no suspects or persons of interest.

Addressing online speculation about possible involvement from family members, Nanos clarified that they are looking for any individual who may have interacted with Guthrie, who vanished early Sunday morning from her home in Tucson, Arizona.

“We’re looking into everyone associated with this case. It would be remiss not to engage with everyone—be it an Uber driver, a gardener, or anyone else,” Nanos explained. He emphasized that, in their investigation, everyone is considered a suspect until proven otherwise.

“The family has been cooperative and has complied with our requests. We want to maintain that positive relationship,” he added.

Nancy Guthrie’s Family

Annie Guthrie

Nancy’s eldest daughter, Annie Guthrie, is a poet and former marketing director at the University of Arizona Poetry Center. She published a poetry collection in 2015 and is interested in oracular writing, which connects poetry to the divine or non-human realms.

Tommaso Cioni

Annie is married to Tommaso Cioni, an AP Biology teacher at BASIS Oro Valley in Tucson, who has been there for over 15 years. Interestingly, he was also a bassist and vocalist for a local band called Early Black. They released an album titled ‘Lifelovelovemurder’ nine years ago.

In a profile from her workplace, Annie expressed a love for teaching and even joked about being a rock star, stating, “But wait…I’m a rock star!”

Among friends, Zach Lind from the band Jimmy Eat World shared supportive words about Annie and Tommaso on social media, highlighting their dedication to their mother.

Savannah Guthrie

Nancy’s second daughter, Savannah, is a well-known journalist and host of NBC’s “Today.” She began her career in broadcasting during the 1990s in various local stations and transitioned through different roles in journalism before anchoring “Today” starting in 2007.

In her career, Savannah also worked briefly in law, including a stint at the U.S. District Court, before returning to the media. She was a White House correspondent from 2008 to 2011.

Mark Feldman

Mark Feldman is Savannah’s husband, a political consultant, and a former assistant to Al Gore during his time in the White House. The couple has two children together.

Charles Camron Guthrie

Their brother, Charles Camron Guthrie, is a retired military colonel who previously flew F-16s. His family proudly commemorated his service and retirement in social media posts.

As the investigation continues, neighbors have shown their support for the Guthrie family, highlighting the community’s concern during this difficult time.
