BALTIMORE —
According to WBAL-TV 11 News Investigates, a significant number of customers who bought health insurance through the Maryland Health Exchange are facing delays in their coverage being applied.
The coverage was set to start on January 1, but it has been confirmed by Maryland Health Connection that around 4,000 customers with CareFirst insurance are affected by this issue.
Officials from the health exchange have stated they are collaborating with CareFirst to address the problem. Those who are impacted and need urgent help can reach out at 855-642-8572 to escalate their requests.
A representative explained, “Maryland Health Connection understands how critical it is for consumers to access their health insurance promptly and acknowledges that some individuals with CareFirst plans are facing delays in accessing their benefits. Currently, this situation seems to affect a limited number of consumers. We are working closely with CareFirst to investigate and resolve these cases as swiftly as possible.”
This situation is still developing.
