Ice Chants During AEW’s Dynamite Match

Fans of Elite Wrestling made their opinions clear regarding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during Wednesday’s “Dynamite” match.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) faced Brody King in an AEW World Championship Eliminator match. If King secured a victory, he would qualify to compete in the AEW World Championship match next weekend at Grand Slam Australia.

The atmosphere at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas was electric as the crowd erupted with chants of “f— ICE” while MJF and King took a moment before the match commenced. Eventually, King managed to defeat MJF, a result aided by “Hangman” Adam Page’s distraction, earning him the opportunity to fight for the title.

This isn’t the first instance of AEW stars expressing their views on ICE. Last year, King participated in a 14-man tag team match at Grand Slam Mexico, wearing a shirt that read “Abolish ICE.” This event came during heightened tensions regarding ICE in Los Angeles, showing that these athletes are not shy about their political stances.

King offered his support to the protesters in Los Angeles who were responding to a series of attacks at that time. The week had seen significant unrest, with reports of injuries to police, fires set to self-driving cars, and looting taking place in various locations.
