Deepak Chopra’s Discussions with Jeffrey Epstein
Deepak Chopra, the well-known New Age guru, engaged in some unusual scientific discussions with Jeffrey Epstein. Reports detail experiments that included tests for telepathy in autistic children and reactions to what were termed “erotic/violent” images.
Emails made public by the Justice Department show that Epstein frequently interacted with Chopra, the author of “Ageless Body Timeless Mind,” along with other researchers exploring psychic phenomena.
While Epstein had long been fascinated by mathematics and science, documents reveal his interests extended into areas like telekinesis and clairvoyance as well.
In 2016, Chopra shared a perplexing email thread titled “Suggestion for Psychic Experiments” with Epstein. In this context, the Greek letter “psi” typically represents psychic events.
One email featured Stanley Klein, a professor specializing in vision science at UC Berkeley, who proposed experiments using “erotic and other emotional stimuli.”
The following year, Chopra sent Epstein more correspondence about psychic experiments. This included discussions on observing the responses of clairvoyants to various stimuli, though the sender’s name was redacted.
Another concept under consideration was for clairvoyants to guess numbers generated by a “quantum random number generator” as a demonstration of their supposed psychic skills.
Additionally, there were proposals to involve children with autism in telepathy experiments.
Paul J. Mills, a professor from UC San Diego, indicated in a 2017 email that he was collaborating with Chopra and another physician, Diane Powell, on this telepathy project, which was part of Powell’s clinical research. Mills mentioned that he tried to obtain funding for the study through the Deepak Chopra Foundation, but ultimately could not secure the resources.
Mills acknowledged that he only became aware of Epstein’s notoriety in recent years as media coverage grew. Some researchers, perhaps somewhat naively, looked to Epstein for funding. In one instance, he was approached about a $90,000 project to validate the existence of psychic abilities.
Dean Radin, a well-known parapsychologist, expressed his willingness to oversee such a project for the right funding, and he later sent Epstein a photo of a spoon he claimed to have bent using his mind.
Radin boasted about the “sacred spoon” in an email, although it remains unclear if Epstein agreed to fund any of these endeavors.
In a subsequent email, Gino Yu, a philosopher with a focus on consciousness, noted Epstein’s keen interest in individuals with special talents. Discussions between Chopra and Epstein also touched on consciousness, time, and psychic realities.
However, it seems Epstein favored thorough scientific inquiry over mystical interpretations of these phenomena. He noted, somewhat harshly, that the mystical approaches had failed in curing certain ailments over decades.
Chopra’s correspondence wasn’t limited to these esoteric topics. In a February 2017 email, he invited Epstein to Israel, humorously stating, “Please bring the girls.” He also made a rather provocative comment, saying, “God is a construct, pretty girls are real.”
Chopra admitted to receiving introductions to Epstein through individuals who thought he could be a potential source of funding for research. In a recent statement, Chopra expressed regret over some of the emails, recognizing that certain tones might reflect poor judgment in hindsight.
Both Chopra and Radin have not commented on these revelations.
